Has anyone ever been able to purchase anything through here?  I have tried repeatedly, and clicked right when items have gone "on sale" only to be told that either everything is already on hold or sold out.

Not sure what the scheme is, since I don't lose anything but time -- but all they accomplish is frustration.  So far this has to be one of the worst "perks"/incentives to use AmEx I've seen.  It doesn't work.

Same experience. I clicked on the button at exactly 12 PM CT (1 PM EST), and it told me that it's already on hold and sold out. I'm frusturated as well. Seems like they should really increase the volume; otherwise the offer is gone within 1 minute.
